Aigburth voted one of best places to live in UK 2019

Date Published 16 April 2019

Liverpool is a pretty happening place. With its buzzy atmosphere, bargain house prices & excellent investment opportunities it's unmatched elsewhere in the UK – but we're biased of course. We're also getting a brand-new cruise terminal, film studios in the iconic Littlewoods building & the medicine-based knowledge quarter located by the Universities.
This year the leafy suburb of Aigburth has been named as best place to live in the UK & it's about time this gorgeous location gets the recognition it deserves. It's a prime location for families to work, play and bring up their kids in peaceful surroundings. Aigburth is surrounded by the River Mersey on one side & Sefton Park on the other putting it in a very desirable position. The City Centre is only 10 minutes away by train & the bus doesn't take much longer.
The shops along Aigburth Road are some of the best independent shops in Liverpool. The Bread Shop Bakery is infamous & Coopers café deserves an honourable mention. Arguably one of the biggest benefits of L17 is Lark Lane, a street full of independent shops & eateries with a boho vibe. At the weekend the pubs & bars of Lark Lane are busy with people from all walks of life & it's a great night out.
Schools around Aigburth are another plus point. Belvedere Academy (which has been rated outstanding by Ofsted) is at the top of Aigburth Road, close to plenty of transport links, similarly to St Margaret's which has been deemed a good school. The Blue Coat school - Liverpool's most prestigious selective school is located just across Sefton Park.
Aigburth has so many redeeming qualities that it isn't surprising that it's been named as a top place to live. We have let & sold so many properties in Aigburth – they don't stick around for long!
